Tele2 Upgrades Boxer’s TV Services

Stockholm - How we watch mobile content has changed over the past decade and today the majority of what we watch is consumed via some form of internet connection. Tele2 AB ("Tele2") (Nasdaq Stockholm: TEL2 A and TEL2 B), which owns Boxer, has therefore gradually during the year replaced the customers' program cards with the new WiFi-based TV solution Tv Hub Mini. During the fall of 2024, Boxer will contact all remaining customers in order to upgrade them before December 31.

Customers who still have Boxer's program card will have these replaced with Tv Hub Mini, which has a larger selection and easier access to the streaming services included in Boxer's TV package. As a customer, you don't have to do anything, but Boxer will contact everyone affected in good time via e-mail or letter.

-        TV plays an important role in many people’s lives, and we want to help our customers in starting up the Tv Hub effortless. We have developed clear and educational instructions and offer on-site installation assistance for those who wish, which has been appreciated, says Niclas Rosendahl, Director Entertainment at Tele2.

Since 2023, Boxer has successively contacted affected customers. Terrestrial distribution will end on December 31, but the majority of customers have already switched to the Tv Hub Mini and are therefore not affected. The remaining customers will be upgraded in autumn 2024.

-        Focusing our resources on the technology that the majority of our customers already use is natural for us. All technology needs to be upgraded sooner or later, and this is a big improvement for our customers to consume their favorite content. If you want to watch linear TV just like before, the new technology works great, and if you want to use play services and apps, that is now also possible, concludes Niclas Rosendahl.

With the Tv Hub Mini, you collect your TV channels in 4K HDR quality and streaming services in the same place and browse the channels with the convenient remote control or zap by voice control. Some of the most popular apps are already pre-installed, but of course you can download and add your own favorites from the Google Play Store. Tv Hub Mini has built-in Chromecast and bluetooth so you can stream directly from your tablet or mobile phone.
